New payments for taxes

Tarnaveni is one of the few cities that allow card payment Visa for POS local taxes.Dates from BNR shows that almost 90% of the amounts traded on the card is withdrawn from ATMs and just over 10% are payments to merchants. In addition, both Visa, Mastercard and other card international organization with a stronger local presence, currently is developing campaigns to encourage card payments at retailers. Although the profile offers companies focused on city mayors of county municipalities, City of Tarnaveni managed to quickly implement this sistem.

I would like to say that my city didn't change to much but that would be a lie. I grew up there in difficult times but I say that now there are more difficult times than in that period of Ceausescu ruling. I left the city when I was 16 years old and everytime when I go back to the city lots of memories come to my mind. It was a nice and small city to grew up in. But now its changed. Lots of young people left the city to look for a job,lots of places closed and a lot of people don't have a job anymore. But I hope that in the future this will change.Maybe some people will come and invest in this city and things will change in good.

Strand of five stars in Tîrnăveni

The Mures Child’s Rights Protection Directorate

The Mures Child’s Rights Protection Directorate is a specialized organ in the child’s rights protection.
It has been founded on the basis of the Decision no. 57 from December 16th , 2004 of the Council of the County of Targu Mures. It performs its activity as an institution of public interest having a juridical personality under the Council of the County of Targu Mures.

The city where Eminescu passed..

Mihai Eminescu made four roads in Transylvania. In one of them, while having that "end point", Blaj, "where the romanian sun is rising , after Heliade Ion Radulescu, has stopped on 3 June 1866 in Târnăveni (Dicio-Sînmartin, then ).

On 15 January 1996, on the exterior wall of the Cellar, in a festive way, in the presence of writers Duicu Serafim, Nicolae Baciut, Lazar Lădariu, Mariana Cristescu, D. Silistră Dumitru, Razvan Ducan, etc.. Mr. ing Octavian Popa, town mayor, has unveiled a plate of marble and a bronze bas-relief portrait of "the one artist", artist work of Victor Cristea, present there as well. Even today you can read the documentwith the information: "Place to rest were / here for the poet / Mihai Eminescu / en route to Blaj / summer 1866.

Tarnaveniul vechi

From the early 19th century until 1918, when Transylvania voted to unite with Romania, the city was a local administrative center inside the Kingdom of Hungary and Austria-Hungary. During the Revolution of 1848-1849, Târnăveni was included in the administrative units of Romanians resisting the Hungarian Revolutionary government, and, as part of the 3rd Legion, Cetatea de Baltă, provided soldiers for the army of Avram Iancu; its prefect was Vasile Moldovan (the latter was ultimately defeated and settled in Boziaş, where he later died).

Târnăveni Municipality is located on the river Small Târnava at the foot hill of the same name, the Transylvanian Plateau, the heart of Transylvania and a little north of the geographical center of Romania.

Settlement is documentary attested since 1278, although they found traces of human habitation since Neolithic.
